So far, we’ve only presented theoretical information. But the illustrations in this appendix are good examples of what you can do with a tool like GIMP. We created some of these illustrations with a vector graphics program, rather than with GIMP. This is the case, for example, for Figure A-1 and Figure A-37. We found other images in the Wikimedia Commons collection. We did, however, build or edit several of the images with GIMP. You can begin to explore the potential of GIMP through the following exercises, although you may not be able to complete them until you’ve read some of the other chapters in this book.
