The right sort of people, given good direction and led in the right way, can start to make a difference. They may be willing to do the right thing, but still unable to do so if the processes of the organization get in their way. They need processes which support them by being aligned with the strategy and with each other and by being flexible enough to enable adaptation to changing circumstances. The two most important organizational processes are budgeting and performance appraisal.
