PREPARATION

You may be a new hire or you may have been promoted from within. If you are the former you should start even before you take up your new position. Study the organisation’s website, read all the recent news that you can find about the organisation, its competitors and the challenges facing their industry sector. Study the history of the organisation and the biographies and LinkedIn profiles of the key executives. If you have been promoted from within, hopefully you will have much of this knowledge already, make sure you fill in any gaps. This will help you hit the ground running.
