Overcome Objections
When I was growing up, my parents would often tell me that I should think about becoming a lawyer. Nearly every time we had a disagreement, I would argue my case with facts and information mixed with a little emotion. I frequently won these arguments because I always had a plan. Before I would approach them to ask for their permission to do something new, I tried to think through every possible reason they would say no, and I would be ready with a solid rebuttal. Although this happened on many occasions, one incident stands out among the others because I needed them to change their perceptions about a number of pretty big issues.
