Be a Problem Solver

A few years ago, while training for the Boston marathon, I injured my iliotibial (IT) band. It is a common knee injury found in runners who train on a track or who haven’t warmed up properly before a long run. Although I knew the injury wasn’t too serious, it was only four weeks until my race, and I was concerned I wouldn’t heal in time. I knew that I needed to address the problem as soon as possible.

With a referral from my doctor, I immediately made an appointment with a physical therapist.
