An animatic is an animated storyboard which could be an integral part of the pre-viz process. By their very nature, storyboards are active, vivid pre-viz tools, drawn by the storyboard artist for a given film production. The storyboard is a sequential art, the main goal or purpose of which is to be the visual spine of the screenplay, which then gives the entire preproduction team a visual, sequential breakdown of the main scenes to be filmed.
