3 Interface and Navigation

When first introduced, the Apple TV’s navigation system owed a large debt to the enormously popular iPod. However, each step through the menus required loading a new screen.

The user interface of Apple TV’s second generation is now a dual-pane menu system that floats over the background selections from the iTunes store (or YouTube videos or your photos). It’s not a radical departure, but it enables you to more easily view all your options, from movies, TV shows, and music stored on the Apple TV, to movie rentals available at the iTunes Store.
