Geotagging and Metadata

One of the wonders of digital photography is that cameras can record data as well as images. Smartphones are particularly good at this.

In this chapter we’re going to explore that world. And yes, I agree, metadata isn’t the most alluring term I’ve ever heard. But there are a few tricks here that I just don’t want you to miss.

Some Things Just Don’t Mix

One of my struggles in the past with analog photography was keeping notes about my work. As a young man, I was determined to improve as a photographer. My thinking was that if I took notes about the settings I used for each shot, then I could repeat my most successful images and get better.
