How to Host a Mini-Retrospective
Retrospectives can be big, fancy, all-day affairs that are held at the end of a major release or near the end of a project. That’s not what I am talking about here.
These retrospectives are quick, ten- to fifteen-minute, focused discussions where you and your team regularly get together and talk about where you are kicking butt and where you need to improve.
The first rule of thumb for hosting a good retrospective is to make sure everyone feels safe. If you think you have an issue with safety, pull out the retrospective prime directive and remind people what it’s all about.
