REMAINING DIFFERENTIATED

In today’s world a person’s power and status depend largely on his capacity and willingness to access the world’s knowledge and social network and then make use of it. The network is becoming increasingly dominant, making the individual increasingly helpless when not in close communication with it. This overwhelming dependence on an all-important artifact of civilisation could reduce individuals to all-knowing robots or androids, without any individuality of their own. With the ever-increasing spread of the network, this would then transform future society into an anthill, the perfect example of integrated life.
