Changing Workplace, Changing Life

DELIBERATE LIVING

Human life has generally been compulsive. Making a living, looking for food and shelter, and mere survival have occupied most of man’s time. Finding a mate and rearing children have been the other major occupation. Once the children grew up it was time to leave. Even in the 19th century the European lifespan remained limited only to the reproductive phase of life, and thus life remained confined to essentially surviving and child rearing. That, at any rate, is the biologically assigned role of all living beings, including humans.
