Reflecting on the Attributes of the Non-Negotiable: Tackling Fear

One of the biggest impediments to implementing the Non-Negotiables is fear. Fear lives in a place in us where negative thoughts and feelings develop and self-defeating behaviors take root. Life is too precious to view through the filter of fear. All we need is a process that shows us how to move beyond our fears in spite of them.

Let’s be honest, there is no such thing as being fearless. Life is going to present us with trials and challenges. To overcome them, we focus at Fishbowl on surrounding one another with the 7 Non-Negotiables and tackling together whatever comes our way. This makes the process much simpler, and as I have stated, the far side of complexity is simplicity.

Do we make mistakes? Yes—but instead of beating ourselves down, we reach up and discover what we can learn. Some of our best discoveries in the Bowl started out as mistakes.
