98. Create Action Scorecards

Most leadership action takes place in the trenches in localized situations. Leaders must respond to a particular customer need or overcome a production problem. They tackle a software integration issue or redirect a dysfunctional group. They implement a method to cut costs on a specific project or heal the wounds of mistrust between two departments in conflict. While core identity, vision, mission, and values define the larger performance context, skillful leaders create action scorecards between themselves and others to guide local action and measure results.
