Master leaders understand that followers support their direction because it meets the followers' needs. They know that effective influence depends on tuning in to the follower's frequency of WII-FM—What's in it for Me? The best leaders continually assess follower needs. They then look for ways to meet people at their level and lead them in the direction the leader wants them to go.
