Rapport describes the affinity one person has with another. Rapport is a big reason some people gain the natural born leader attribution. When rapport is high, others admire you and see in you what they want to become. They perceive in you the best that they can be.

Rapport binds people to the leader like a magic glue. It creates the interpersonal bond and sense of unity that is basic if a leader wants to gain willing followers. Think of your own experience. Who were you more willing to follow—a person you respected, admired, and had an affinity with, or someone who made you feel uncomfortable?
