6. Remain Flexible in the Face of Difficulty

Leading demands living in a world of challenge. It is easy to be adaptable and resilient in the good times. The difficult times demand flexibility. We do not attribute natural born leader status to those whose behavioral resilience fades when hard times crop up. When such people lock up or their mental stability gets shaken and they lash out with emotion, we do not view them as master leaders.

Those we label natural born leaders do not lock up. They remain flexible in the face of FUD: fear, uncertainty, and doubt. FUD defines a form of "anticipation energy" that drains flexibility.
