How it works...

Once an exception criteria is met by a query, the corresponding action will be performed. A query can be either aborted, notified, degraded to a lower workload, or any other program can be executed.

The following are some types of exception criteria that can be defined:

  • Maximum spool rows
  • I/O count
  • Spool size
  • Blocked time
  • Elapsed time
  • Number of AMPs
  • CPU time (sum over all nodes)
  • Tactical CPU usage threshold (per node)
  • Tactical I/O physical bytes (per node)
  • I/O physical bytes
  • CPU disk ratio
  • Skew - Can be CPU or I/O
