The following are the steps for resolving a slow or hung system:

  1. Log on to your database via SQLA/Teradata Studio or a remote console.
  2. If step 1 succeeds, then the database is not hung.
  3. Execute the following query and check the response time. These query runs with a minimum response time when the system is performing optimally:
**ALL AMP Query**Sel * from dbc.dbcinfo;**Single AMP Query**select time;
  1. Check on viewpoint, system health portlet; if it shows down, check the number of sessions in the query monitor window:
