You might need to restart the system to kill an unwanted process, after making changes to the system, or even after a version upgrade. TPA reset is done using using various options, as shown in the following table:
| Option | Meaning |
| -f | Forces full reboot of all nodes. No Linux restart occurs. |
| -x | Shuts down the database. |
| -y | Auto confirmation, silent restart. |
| -d | To take dump before restart. |
| -l | Restarts with delay. |
| -p | Node panic before dump is taken. |
| -q | Silent mode, no user confirmation is asked for. |
