You might need to restart the system to kill an unwanted process, after making changes to the system, or even after a version upgrade. TPA reset is done using using various options, as shown in the following table:

-f | Forces full reboot of all nodes. No Linux restart occurs. |
-x | Shuts down the database. |
-y | Auto confirmation, silent restart. |
-d | To take dump before restart. |
-l | Restarts with delay. |
-p | Node panic before dump is taken. |
-q | Silent mode, no user confirmation is asked for. |
