DBS control has a parameter known as IdColBatchSize in general option of DBS control, which indicates the size of the spool of numbers to be reserved for generating numbers for a batch of rows that are to be bulk-inserted with an identity column. 

If the system is over utilized in terms of AWT and the identity table is accessed, it can cause a system restart, as the sequence number generation is waiting on AWT. In this case, you might need to get in touch with your Teradata site engineer and reserve AWT for the identity column. But before that, you might need to check for an alternative way to generate unique sequence numbers.
