Getting ready

As we are going to transfer data from one Teradata box to another, you need to run two instances of VMs.

Copy the Teradata VM image into two different locations to start two instances of Teradata on VMs.

Once you have your two VMs up and running, grab the IP addresses on both the machines. These IPs will be used to connect via TPT wizard.

To find IPs on Linux boxes, we use ip addr. Can we seen in following figure.

In the source VM, we will create the following table:
