Teradata offers many other tools for checking consistency in data over the disk and cylinders. The checking of data and sectors is recommended as maintenance task on system. These utilities not only help in maintaining data integrity, but some of the tools such as packdisk, help restore system space when cylinders are low in space:
- Checktable utility: Checktable is a diagnostic and validation tool; it checks for inconsistencies, corruption in internal data structures such as table headers, row identifiers, and secondary indexes. It can be executed in three levels.
