The curtain rising on the opening night of a Broadway production is, perversely, the final step in the process of actually producing and presenting the performance. Prior to that opening night, the producers, directors, actors, stage hands, carpenters, lighting technicians, and dozens of others worked long hours to ensure that all items were taken care of, and that no detail was overlooked.
