Placing Shapes

Placing shapes is more than simply a click and drag to the drawing page. You may need a shape to stick to a particular location on other shapes. By placing connection points at these various places you are ensured a more accurate drawing. Picture a logical network map. You need to place PC's and servers and connect them at precise positions on the equipment. By adding connection points to those locations, the shapes snap and glue to those locations precisely.

To place connection points to your shapes, follow these steps:

  1. Select a shape by clicking on it.

  2. On the Standard Toolbar, click the drop-down menu just right of the Connector tool as in Figure 9.5.
