Connecting Shapes

Connecting shapes is a common function and is performed frequently. You can use the Connector Tool on the Standard toolbar, you can select two or more shapes and choose the Connect Shapes from the Shape menu, or by selecting from one of the many connection types located on the Connectors Stencil. The Connectors Stencil can be found in the Visio Extras menu as you open a new Stencil.

To connect shapes using the Connector Tool, follow these steps:

  1. Locate the Connector Tool on the Standard Toolbar and click to select it. Figure 9.2 is an example of the Connector Tool. Notice your mouse pointer is slightly different with a small connector arrow symbol indicating that the connector is invoked.
