Selecting and Editing Shapes in a Group

By selecting unique group shapes within a group, you can still edit and format without affecting the entire group.

For example, if you were diagramming a computer network and grouped several PCs including an iMac, and then by selecting just the iMac uniquely from the group, you click Open iMac from the Edit menu. Opening the shape in a new window enables you to format the shape and return to the drawing document saving the attributes altered.

To select and format a SmartShape from a shape group, follow these steps:

  1. Click to select the group.

  2. Click an individual shape to select it among the group.
