Starting a Diagram from the New Drawing Task Pane
Another quick way to start a new diagramming document is by using the New Drawing Task Pane that shows you a number of tasks you may want to pursue, such as:
Opening an existing drawing
Starting a new blank drawing, not based upon any Visio Template files
Creating a new drawing, based on an existing drawing that you or someone else has created
Starting a new drawing, based on a Visio Template file
And getting help
Follow either one of the ways following to start a new drawing document based on an existing Visio Template file by using the New Drawing Task Pane. Notice that the most recent Templates are listed under the New from Template heading.
