Types of Fields

Notes forms contain several types of fields. Some are calculated and others are fields in which you enter information. Notes fields in which you enter data are easily identified because they are surrounded by square brackets [], as you have seen in the Mail Memo form.

The following list describes the common fields and elements you find in Notes database forms. Note that not all forms contain all of these elements.

  • Text fields Fields in which you can enter words and sentences, usually titles or topics.

  • Rich text fields Fields in which you can enter text, import text, import graphics such as .PCX or .TIFF files, and attach files. The rich text fields usually make up the body of the document.
