Understanding Replication
Notes servers store many databases. When you are in the office connected to the Notes network, you can open databases on the server directly from your workstation. Most of the databases that you access, including your mail database, are stored on your home server. You also might be able to access databases on other Notes servers in your company.

Home Server The term used for the Domino server on which your mail database resides. You might find that you can access several Domino servers at work. The one containing your mail database is the one referred to as your "home" server.
