Backing up your Data

There are several ways to back up your data to another disk:

  • Copy the database file to a floppy disk. Make sure you copy both the main database file (ends in .MDB) and the associated file (ends in .LDB). You should also back up System.MDW, the workgroup information file.

Make a duplicate of the database by saving it under a different file name. Use the File, Save As/Export command.

  • Back up your database file using the Backup program that comes with Windows 95. It's located in the Programs/Accessories/System Tools folder on the Start menu. If it's not there, use the Add/Remove Programs utility in the Control Panel to add it. (You will need your original Windows 95 diskettes or CD handy.)
