The Chart Advantage

Have you ever noticed how people's eyes glaze over when you present them with a stack of statistics? Your message will come across more clearly if you present your information in a format that's easy to understand, like a chart. One glance at a chart can communicate the message contained in a hundred pages of raw data.

For instance, let's say I want to know which colors of dogs my kennel owns the most of. I could print a report that lists all the dogs and their colorings, manually count how many of each color there are, and divide each color total by the total number of dogs. This technique would give me the percentage of each color. Creating a chart that shows the percentage of each coloring would be much easier.
