Introducing Query Design View

In Lesson 19, you created a simple query using the Simple Query Wizard, which selected and displayed fields from a table. There's a lot more you can do with your query when you enter Query Design view.

Query Design view is much like Table Design view and Form Design view, both of which you've encountered earlier in this book. In Query Design view, you can change the rules that govern your query results.

Opening a Query in Query Design View

To open an existing query in Query Design view, follow these steps:

  1. Open the database that contains the query you want to edit.

  2. Queries tab.

  3. Click the query you want to edit; then click the Design button.
