Adding Hyperlinks to a Worksheet

A hyperlink is a bit of text or a graphic that, when clicked, takes the user to a Web page, to a file on your hard disk, or to a file on a local network. To add a hyperlink to a worksheet, follow these steps:

  1. Select the cell(s) that contain the text you want to use for the link. For example, the cell might contain the text Click here to view supporting statistics. If you do not enter any text, Excel will insert the address of the file you select in step 4. If you want to use a graphic or a drawing as a link, select it instead.

  2. Click the Insert Hyperlink button on the Standard toolbar.
