Calculating Results Without Entering a Formula
You can view the sum of a range of cells simply by selecting the cells and looking at the status bar, as shown in Figure 14.2. You can also view the average, minimum, maximum, and the count of a range of cells. To do so, right-click the status bar and select the option you want from the shortcut menu that appears.

Where's the Status Bar?
If the status bar is not visible on your screen, you can display it by opening the View menu and clicking Status Bar.
