Creating Your Own Toolbar

Instead of changing any of the standard Excel toolbars, you can create one of your own and fill it with the tools you use most often. Follow these steps to learn how:

  1. Open the Tools menu and select Customize.

  2. Click the Toolbars tab.

  3. Click the New button.

  4. Type a name for your new toolbar (such as Jen's Favorites) and click OK. Excel creates a new floating toolbar.

  5. Click the Commands tab, select the proper category for a desired button, and then drag it onto the toolbar.

  6. Repeat step 5 to add more buttons to your new toolbar. When you finish, click Close.
