Moving Toolbars

After you have displayed the toolbars you need, you can position them in your work area where they are most convenient. Figure 3.2 shows an Excel screen with three toolbars in various positions on the screen.

Here's what you do to move a toolbar:

  1. Click a toolbar's move handle. (If the toolbar is floating in the middle of the window, click its title bar instead.)

  2. Hold down the mouse button and drag the toolbar to where you want it. You can drag it to a side of the window (to a "dock") or let it "float" anywhere in the window.

Although you can drag a toolbar anywhere, if you drag one that contains a drop-down list (such as the Standard or Formatting toolbars) to the left or right side of the window, the drop-down list buttons disappear. ...
