Using the Toolbars
Unless you tell it otherwise, Excel displays the Standard and Formatting toolbars as shown in Figure 3.1. To select a tool from a toolbar, simply click the tool.

If a tool appears grayed, it is currently unavailable. Tools become unavailable when they are not applicable to your current activity.
