If you write high-quality drama or documentary projects, this chapter will help you wade through the maze of grant opportunities. Years ago, I served as senior program officer for the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), so I know the intricacies of grant support for film and television projects. The bureaucracy is dreadful, and the financial rewards are relatively limited, but there is something notable about having your project supported by the NEA, NEH, CPB, or a prestigious grant.
