Appendix B: Computer systems

Broadcast operations, content servers, graphics workstations, automation systems, traffic, and billing are computer based. Most nontechnical people have a love/hate relationship with computers. As in all relationships, knowledge of what goes on inside the object of our interest will help foster understanding. This can lead to working out kinks in a relationship; in our case, the entire media business is heavily dependent on what's going on inside computers.
