Abstract

Due to the matrix structure formed by lignin, cellulose, and hemicellulose, lignocellulosic biomass is inhomogeneous and hard to utilize by humans. In order to use lignocellulosic biomass resources fully, different operation units should be included in the conversion process of biomass: that is, pretreatment, saccharification, and posttreatment units. Moreover, considering the economic benefits and the operation availability, an integration of those operation units to form a platform is favorable and necessary.
