You may think you can't master math, but the prospects are good that you can. The keys to doing so are knowing the principles and practicing them. This chapter has 10 easy tips for getting better at math.

If you have trouble doing simple math (such as adding, subtracting, and multiplying), you may have a little anxiety. If you avoid math problems and mathematicians, you may even have a little fear of math (math phobia). See Chapter 2 for more on math phobia.

Remember: We authors aren't doctors, nor do we play them on TV, so you should seek medical help if you have a serious learning problem. But for ordinary math stress, the cure is right here. Get Help with Your Checkbook
