Oftentimes when an organization is looking to hire a new technical manager, the desire is expressed that the ideal candidate would be about 25 years old with something like 40 years of experience. Obviously this option is a mathematical impossibility, but that idea has served as part of the impetus for this book. Could we capture our years of experience in technical management in some practical ways to give early career managers some valuable assistance? We think we have done so and hope that you will agree.
