Overview

Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) is the apex institution entrusted with the task of formulation of policies and directing programmes relating to peaceful uses of atomic energy such as power generation, medicine, agriculture and industry. It implements its policies and programmes through the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE). The prime objective of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) is to harness atomic energy for peaceful applications. DAE has under its umbrella five research centres, four public-sector undertakings (PSU), three industrial organizations and three service organizations.
