A Schmitt-Trigger Practical Switch

A production of Search and Destroy at the Yale Repertory Theatre required that a practical be turned on and off along with other light cues. For several reasons, though, cabling the practical to an offstage control unit was impractical, and actors found it impossible to trigger the unit consistently because of the nature of the action. We solved the problem by using the electronic circuit diagrammed below.
