In this chapter, we will examine QoS in wireless data networks, that is,Wi-Fi and WiMAX networks. The purpose is to give readers a feeling of what wireless QoS is like, thus further broadening the QoS big picture.

Because wireless networks have very different characteristics from wireline networks, QoS mechanisms and practices in wireless networks are also significantly different from those in wireline networks.
