As you work at increasing reader engagement and comments, you’ll quickly discover something unpleasant. Almost regardless of what you write, attracting a large audience means being on the receiving end of criticism.

People are going to take issue with what you say, because any content that is worth sharing is worth discussing and debating. Even if you don’t try to be controversial, you will inevitably end up being the target of a small percentage of vocal detractors of your content.
