7.4. Adjust Highlights and Shadows
The Highlights slider and the Shadows slider can be used to recover detail in the darkest and brightest areas of the image. The Highlights slider darkens the brightest part of the image, whereas the Shadows slider lightens the darkest parts of the image, to reveal details that were once lost. You can use both of these sliders to improve overall detail in a photo.
Adjust Highlights and Shadows
Click the photo that you want to adjust.
Click the Edit button ().
iPhoto opens the photo in Edit view.
Click the Adjust ...
