Organize Messages Using Rules

Suppose you want all messages you receive from a specific sender to be filed in a particular folder automatically. To accomplish that, as well as many other automated Mail tasks, you can set up a rule. Any messages that meet the criteria defined in the rule are handled in the manner you specify.

With Outlook Mail open, click Tools.

Click Rules and Alerts. The Rules and Alerts dialog box appears.

Click New Rule. The Rules Wizard opens.

To move messages from a certain sender to a folder, click Move Messages from Someone to a Folder.

Click a check box next to the condition that meets your needs ( changes to ). In this example, From People or Distribution List is selected.
7.
To specify the sender to whom the rule applies, click the People or Distribution List link.
