10.8. Understanding Transitions
Transitions offer a way to add variety to your presentation. With transitions, you can modify how slides are displayed when they first appear. You also can set up PowerPoint to play sounds when a transition occurs, or to time a transition to occur at various speeds.
What Is a Transition?
A transition effect occurs when you advance a slide show from one slide to another. Movies use transitions — for example, when you see the screen dissolve from one image to another, or you see an image seem to wipe across the screen to reveal another scene.
