To keep your system running smoothly, you should periodically check your hard drive for errors and fix any errors that come up.
Because hard drive errors such as bad sectors can cause files to become corrupted, which may prevent you from running a program or opening a document, you can use the Check Disk program to look for and fix hard drive errors.
